This week Iduna acquired Greater Manchester’s Electric Vehicle (GMEV) contract, which sees the management and development of the existing Be.EV network, membership scheme and brand. Iduna will be working with Transport for Greater Manchester and the 10 local authorities to make the region more accessible to electric vehicle drivers, deliver cleaner air and lead the shift to an electrified economy.
The Acquisition is an important step in scaling up and improving Greater Manchester’s largest publicly available EV charging network. The Be.EV network currently has 132 fast and rapid chargers, however, Iduna plan to utilise innovative data analytics to enable an intelligent rollout of the next wave of chargers and enhanced customer experience.
The framework lasts seven years (with options for extensions) and the development and expansion of the EV charging network is part of the region’s 2040 Transport Strategy which sets out a vision for a world-class, integrated, and sustainable transport system.
